Finished Project: Berlin Jacket Sewing Pattern

Here’s my latest finished project, the Berlin Jacket sewing pattern from Tessuti Fabrics.

To be honest, I’ve had this pattern in my stash since shortly after it came out at Tessuti a couple of years ago. I saw it in a stunning yellow by AprilMade on Insta and immediately purchased the pattern, as well as this delicious Sunflower Solid Boiled Wool from Mood Fabrics. And then life got in the way and I forgot about my beautiful Berlin Jacket and my scrumptious sunny wool.

And then the global pandemic hit, and I suddenly found myself with not only the time to Make again, but a compelling need to organize the clutter in my office.

Finding this pattern and bag of cozy wool stashed on a shelf felt like reuniting with a long forgotten friend. I couldn’t wait to pour all the angst over the current state of the world into the stitches and I was rewarded with a soft, warm hug of sunny yellow comfort.

Silly metaphors aside, this coat is amazing. It’s an easy one day project, with clear instructions and a fantastic fit. It seriously feels like a warm hug. If it weren’t a bajillion degrees outside, I’d wear it every day. It’s so cozy, I’m tempted to wear it with my pajamas.

But then, wearing a wool jacket in July, or with my pajamas does kinda track with my crazy Covid hair and the catio mansion we just built in our backyard, because really, anything goes right now, right?
